Montecillo Gran Reserva is a classic, forceful and elegantly complex Rioja. More than 140 years after its founding, Bodegas Montecillo demonstrates its commitment to excellence with the highest quality wines vintage after vintage. COLOR: Clean and bright color. Intense ruby red with good color density. AROMA AND TASTE: The nose is very perfumed with aromas of ripe fruit. Complex and elegant. Satin texture with fine tannins and a leathery taste. Elegant and refined with a long finish and aftertaste with notes of liquorice. Ideal for dishes where the velvety smoothness of this wine can coexist and enhance. Great with stews and meats, especially with birds such as partridge or pheasant.

  • A classic, forceful and elegantly complex, made with the selection of the best grapes
  • First fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28ºC and maceration (contact with skins) during it. Second natural fermentation in underground tanks. Aging (oxidative) in semi-new high quality French and American oak barrels for 26 months. Aging (reductive) in the bottle for a minimum of 36 months - each bottle is carefully stacked by hand in the underground bottle rack
