Panduru is a circular economy initiative that creates delicious pastries using surplus bread from bakeries.
Inspired by the traditional culture of women from previous generations, we reintroduce unsold bread into the food chain, preserving all its nutritional value, creating pastries, cakes, and desserts.
We replace flour with bread and use seasonal, locally produced ingredients, offering an alternative to ultra-processed pastries, expanding our offerings to those who want to consume more sustainably and boosting the local economy.
History
Panduru was founded as a circular economy project in 2020 and incorporated as a company in May 2022. Over the years, it has received numerous awards recognizing its underlying values:
1st EWA Award (2020) from the European EIT Food Consortium
Gijón Impulsa Award for Sustainable Business (2023) from Gijón City Council
Miradas Violetas Award (2024) from the NGO MasPaz
European Week for Waste Reduction Award (2024) in the business category, from COGERSA
